Education.

Steve McQueen began his artistic education at Chelsea College of Art and Design in the year 1989.  Chelsea College of Art and Design (once called Chelsea School of Art) was founded in the year 1908 after Chelsea Polytechnic's School of Art merged with Hammersmith School of Art. The school flourished during the 1960s and enrolled more fine art students than any other art school in the country at the time. Also, the school mainly focused on painting and graphic design. McQueen later attended Goldsmith's College from 1990-1993 where he found his love for film making. After his departure from Goldsmith's, McQueen decided to try out Tisch School of the Arts in New York City but left very shortly (in 1994) after enrolling because he felt that their approach to film was not experimental enough for him.
